This is a slight experiment, so please bear with me here.

In thinking on how I wanted to go forward with this challenge, I hit on an idea. I want to tell, in character portraits, one of the first stories that informs what we know as Autumn Bay. If this goes well, there may be others.

This is the story of two brothers, a band, a pair of mysteries, and a modest media empire.

In the late 1970s, there were two brothers, Brian and Jeff Morningstar, attending art school. Brian was studying film, and Jeff graphic arts. Their family was comfortably well off, so they didn't have to worry about tuition.

Facing plenty of free time, and with the DIY spirit of punk rock in the air, they decided to start a band. Brian would play guitar, and Jeff would play bass.

A late night session of brainstorming a name combined with Jeff's love of old horror comics gave them their name. That name was Cryptkeeper.

The next day, they started advertising to find additional members.

Shown here is Jeff as he appeared in an early photo shoot for the band, circa 1979.

Thanks! And yeah, perlin noise on multiply with a lowered opacity.

I can't tell if it's just the anatomically realistic outlines, or if it's because of subtle shading underneath the grain effect - but his legs and feet do almost look photorealistic!

Thanks!

I think the grain effect really helps that.
